Soccer stars kick off new Spanish tourism campaign
Real Madrid football club has been enlisted to help promote tourism to Spain and its capital city.
A new campaign will reach an estimated audience of more than 300 million people, who will be exposed to the slogan ‘Visit Spain, Visit Madrid’.
The top Real Madrid players will become Spain and Madrid brand ambassadors in international advertising campaigns, and the club will also allow the destinations access to advertising space at the stadium.
The agreement signifies the start of a new marketing strategy by Turespaña, Spain’s Tourism Board, to brand Spain as the home of leading athletes.
It is a follow-up to the campaign focusing on Spain as a prime gastronomy destination and the home of star chef, Ferran Adria.
