Social media among unusual hotel perks

Monday, 08 Jun, 2010 0

If you think you’ve heard every new perk hotels can come up to entice guests, here’s a new one: the chance to attend a social media workshop as part of the all-inclusive rates at Casa Velas Hotel Boutique in Puerto Rico.

“We’re delighted to be probably the first resort in Mexico to offer this, and at no charge to our guests,” announced Pierre Bonin, Managing Director of Casa Velas.

The workshop includes Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others.

Why this perk?

The hotel found more than two-thirds of respondents in a poll wanted to learn more about sharing vacation photos, videos and trip experiences with friends and family.

The all-inclusive Casa Velas Hotel Boutique offers rates starting at $240 per person per night, based on double occupancy, from now through December 23 of this year.

The rate includes a la carte gourmet dining, private beach club, premium international liquor brands, 24-hour in-suite service, in-suite mini-bar, private roundtrip airport transportation, and all taxes and gratuities.
