Sofitel Luxury lands in central Asia
The Sofitel Luxury Hotels brand has opened its first property in Central Asia in the city of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Ashgabat lies in the Karakum Desert at the foot of the Kopet-Dag Mountains, and is currently booming thanks to its access to oil and gas resources and the cotton industry.
The downtown business hotel offers 299 rooms and suites, extensive meeting rooms plus conference and fitness facilities
The lobby is arranged around a fountain, above which stretches a 12-story atrium.
