Soldiers hurt in Paris attack
Six French soldiers were injured, two of them seriously, when a car ploughed into a military patrol in an upmarket Paris suburb this morning.
The BMW sped off after hitting six members of Operation Sentinelle, which is part of France’s state of emergency introduced after terror attacks in November 2015.
Police are hunting the car and the driver.
The attack happened at around 8am during the changeover of soldiers stationed at Place de Verdun, close to the town hall in Levallois-Perret.
The mayor Patrick Balkany told reporters that a parked BMW appeared to have been waiting for the soldiers to leave their barracks. It was then driven the wrong way down a one-way street, hitting six soldiers.
Security services have been dispatched to the area, which has been sealed off to the public.
