Southwest Airlines inks new interline partnership with ANA
Southwest Airlines is continuing to build international partnerships far and wide.
Its latest expansion is a new interline agreement with Japan carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA).
This pact allows passengers with both airlines to book connecting flights.
This enables the booking of a connected journey on a single reservation which includes checked baggage to the final destination.
This agreement with ANA marks the airline’s seventh international ticketing partnership in less than two years and the fourth with an Asian airline.
ANA joins recently inked deals with Taiwan based China Airlines, EVA Air, Philippine Airlines, Condor, Icelandair and Turkish Airlines.
Southwest also said it expects to sign more airline partnerships in the future.
The ANA interline partnership will focus mainly on six US hub cities that both the airlines serve.
These are Chicago O’Hare, Honolulu LAX, San Francisco Seattle and Washington DC.
“ANA offers extensive domestic service within Japan as well as international service. Air travelers can now book interline itineraries connecting through our shared gateways,” the airline said.
