Southwest Airlines Co. started to fly to Santa Rosa, California’s Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) on April 7, 2026. Initial flights link the airport nonstop to San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, and Burbank, California.
The San Diego and Las Vegas routes are operating daily, including two San Diego round-trips on peak days. Burbank initially operates five days per week and Denver operates on Saturdays only. Seasonal service connected to Austin is set to begin in October.
Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Airlines declated that “adding Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport to our route map provides more access to California’s famed Wine Country for our customers and further solidifies our years long commitment to California.”
Southwest offers, without regional carriers, more intra-California service than any other airline. It leads in available seats, daily departures, and proudly carries the most passengers in the Golden State. Santa Rosa is indeed the 14th destination in Southwest’s California catalog.
In addition to launching service to wine country, Southwest will begin a new program called Sip & Ship, which allows customers to bring a bit of wine country home with them at no cost. Starting April 24, customers will be able to fly one case of wine for free from select West Coast locations, including Santa Rosa (Sonoma County).
In another development, the airline expanded its Caribbean presence with daily service to St. Maarten. The first flight started on April 7 between the island and Orlando International Airport. Weekend service between St. Maarten and Baltimore is scheduled to begin Saturday, April 11. The carrier also announced to start flights to Anchorage, Alaska in May.
