Spain announces new UK director

The new London-based director of the Spanish tourist office in London, Enrique Ruiz de Lera, will meet members of the UK travel trade for the first time at World Travel Market.

 

Ruiz de Lera, who was most recently marketing director of TurEspana in Madrid, will replace Ignacio Vasallo who is leaving London at the end of the month after a seven-year stint to become director of the Spanish Tourist Office in Paris.

 

Ruiz de Lera has successfully developed and implemented the global 'I need Spain' marketing campaign as well as TurEspana's social media campaigns including 'Spain a country to share' and Spain keep sharing'.

 

He has also held posts as marketing director in Singapore from 2005 to 2009 and he has worked in Brazil and Germany.
