Spain the most family-friendly holiday
Spain has been voted the number one destination for families by an ABTA survey, closely followed by the UK.
Consumers taking part in the ABTA 2011 Consumer Trends Survey were asked which country they regarded as the most family friendly for holidays and almost one in five gave their vote to Spain.
The UK came second overall in the top ten and was especially popular among an older age group with those aged 55+ voting it top.
The amazing theme parks and hospitality of the USA drove it to a very strong third spot.
France, Greece, Italy, Turkey and Cyprus followed by Australia getting the last spot in the top ten line-up.
The results were announced at the ABTA Travel Convention held in Palma de Mallorca this week.
“We continue to support the travel trade to update them on all our new developments in culture, sport and gastronomy. It truly is a pleasure to see so much loyalty from the travel trade and British public,” said director of the Spanish Tourist Office, Ignacio Vasallo.
