Spanish resorts hit by white stuff
Sun-soaked holiday resorts in Southern Spain have been hit by a shock fall…of snow.
Majorca, La Manga and Malaga, as well as parts of south-eastern Spain, got several surprise inches of the white stuff, despite enjoying temperatures in the low 60s the day before.
Sky News quotes British expatriate Ron Thomas, 44, now living in Costa Tropical, as saying local people were “gobsmacked”.
“Some of them are just staying inside their homes,” he says. “I’d been phoning my family in Bedfordshire over the last few days saying how much I missed the snow and hoping it would fall over here. And all of a sudden there it is. Maybe I should have wished to win the lottery.”
Weather forecasters believe more snow could fall today along coastal areas but the cold weather is expected to shift further east in the next few days.
