SpiceJet finally clears debts with airport operator

India’s troubled airline SpiceJet has finally cleared outstanding debt owed to airport operator, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) .

The airline has settled the debt due to ‘improved cashflow in recent times,’ SpiceJet said.

The airline had its credit facility suspended and was on ‘cash and carry’ for airports services.

SpiceJet recently settled a lawsuit over unpaid dues to a Swiss engineering firm,

The low-cost airline is currently under special enhanced surveillance by India’s aviation regulator over several mid-air safety issues relating and maintenance practices.
