Budget carrier Monarch is to advertise its fares inclusive of tax in a bid to “restore trust” in airline pricing.
Managing director Tim Jeans said fares on its website at all stages of the booking process and those quoted at its call centres would now include taxes.
He explained: “This is being introduced in response to customer feedback and is a bid to restore trust in airline fares. The UK travelling public are savvy travellers and are rightly cynical about the low fares they see advertised on airline websites, knowing that the final price will be much higher, once taxes and charges are included.”
Tax inclusive fares will be sold from November and will include all charges such as airport taxes and Air Passenger Duty.
