The St. Kitts Tourism Authority has expanded its reach into a new market, undertaking its first trade trip to Scotland as part of a roadshow that also included meetings with travel trade partners in London and Oxford, 20–24 October 2025, prior to WTM.
The roadshow underscores St Kitts’ commitment to engaging and inspiring travel agents to sell the destination – an approach that, alongside increased hotel distribution through the UK trade and an aggressive radio and outdoor advertising campaign, in partnership with British Airways, is delivering results. Visitor arrivals from the UK climbed by 10% year-on-year in the period January to September 2025.
St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Jonette Boyd, and UK Trade Sales Representative, Suzy Trott led the visit, which included a “lunch and learn” style event over afternoon tea at the Ham Yard Hotel in London with top Caribbean sellers; agent events in Oxford and Glasgow; and a training session over breakfast with Barrhead Travel.
Kuoni UK selling again St Kitts
The itinerary also featured individual appointments with tour operators and travel agents including Hays Travel, Travel Republic, Lotus Travel, and Hummingbird Travel, as well as a cocktail-making master class with Kuoni in London to launch the destination to the company’s retail managers.
Kuoni will be selling St. Kitts, starting from November 2025, for the first time since 2019. Hotels featured in Kuoni’s St. Kitts program include Park Hyatt St. Kitts, Royal St. Kitts Hotel, Sunset Reef and St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort.
The dedicated agent events, held at The Malmaison Hotel in Oxford and The Dakota Hotel in Glasgow comprised networking over drinks and canapes, a presentation on the latest tourism developments in St. Kitts, and a prize draw.
“We’re delighted with the strong performance of the UK market and excited to be tapping into a new market in Scotland,” said Kelly Fontenelle, Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “It’s also fantastic to once again partner with Kuoni to showcase the beauty and charm of St. Kitts to an even wider audience.”
Expecting more growth from the UK in 2026
“The continued growth in UK visitor arrivals highlights the impact of our trade initiatives, including roadshows like this one, which play a vital role in driving tourism to the island,” she added.
“Earlier this year, we launched our new agent training and rewards portal, www.stkittsspecialist. com, along with an attractive incentive program offering UK agents a £50 Love2Shop voucher for every St. Kitts booking logged on the system. This initiative is designed to boost engagement among agents actively promoting the destination and is supported by a series of online training sessions and in-person updates across the UK.”
“Looking ahead to 2026, we remain committed to investing in UK trade activity — from events and training to incentives and fam. trips — as we continue to grow trade-led distribution and broaden the range of hotels available through our trade partners.”
“We recently launched a search for travel agents to join our first ever Travel Advisor Board. The new board will strengthen SKTA’s ties with the travel agent community by providing professionals with the opportunity to share direct feedback, offer valuable insights and contribute to the destination’s ongoing tourism strategy.”
