St Regis resort to open in the Maldives
Starwood Hotels & Resorts its bringing its upscale brand St Regis to the Maldives.
The St. Regis Vommuli Resort will be located on the private island of Vommuli, which is a 40-minute seaplane ride from capital male.
Starwood signed an agreement with Residency Resorts Malé Private Limited and it will be developed by Indian firm Appaaswamy Group.
It will feature 77 private villas, a spa, fitness centre, dive centre and four restaurants.
"Celebrated as one of the world’s best addresses, the Maldives is a befitting destination to introduce the St. Regis brand to a discerning set of global guests," said Jim Petrus, global brand leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
"This incredible addition to the St. Regis portfolio has been conceived in perfect harmony with the island’s lush vegetation and pristine lagoon."
The St. Regis Vommuli Resort joins other Starwood brands in the Maldives including W Retreat & Spa – Maldives and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa.
