Staff anger as Disney cuts training role
Disneyland Resort Paris is scaling back the role of its dedicated UK agent training rep in a move that has angered staff at its London office.
The move is likely to lead to the departure of training manager Kerry Craigie, who has worked with agents across the UK for five years.
Disneyland Paris defended the decision, claiming its sales team now conducts much of the training.
“A decision has been made to reduce the head count from one to half,” a spokeswoman said. “In effect it will become a part time role. Kerry is a popular member of staff but we have to justify every role.”
Although officially in a consultation period, sources said Craigie, who trained agents about Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World, has not been offered an alternative role and will leave the company.
Staff at its Hammersmith office branded the move a “moment of madness”.
One member of staff, who declined to be named, said: “We are all disgusted and it seems the cutbacks have come from the Paris office as opposed to Walt Disney World who wanted to keep her.”
