Starbucks onboard the Swiss Expresso
The Swiss Travel System and Starbucks will launch a Starbucks carriage in September later this year.
Director of Switzerland Tourism Australia, Evelyn Lafone, said while Aussie travellers to Switzerland were well acquainted with the use of the Swiss Pass and the railway system, the Starbucks partnership "adds another element of familiarity to the service, especially among the younger and new travellers to the country".
She said the Swiss Pass offers unlimited travel on all public transport throughout the country, a 50% price reduction off most mountain railways and cableways as well as free admission to more than 470 museums in the country.
A current promotion is the free travel day with the Swiss Pass 4+1, where holders of a 1st class 4-day Swiss Pass, Saver Pass or Youth Pass will receive an extra free day of travel.
The travel period is November 1 – December 31, 2013 and prices start at A$416.
On September 1, a new two-day Swiss Flexi Pass will be launched, entitling travellers to travel by train, bus and boat on any two days within one month from A$223.
The travel period for this Pass is from September 1, 2013 – May 31, 2014.
