Starwood sells The Phoenician resort to Host Hotels
Host Hotels has snapped up landmark hotel The Phoenician, A Luxury Collection Resort in Scottsdale, Az, in a deal worth $400 million from Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
The AAA Five-Diamond resort will undergo renovation new owner Host Hotels said, and Starwood will continue to manage the hotel in The Luxury Collection brand.
The renovation project will commence this summer.
Opened in 1988, The Phoenician features 643 rooms and nine food and beverage outlets on a 300 acre site at the base of Camelback Mountain.
It also includes a 27-hole championship golf course, seven outdoor pools and a spa and fitness center.
It will become Host Hotels’ 36th Starwood branded hotel in its portfolio.
