Storms cause overnight ferry cancellations
P&O Ferries cancelled services on its Dover-Calais route following last night’s storms.
The ferry operator cancelled the Dover-Calais 4.50am and Calais-Dover 5.50am services, blaming "adverse weather conditions" and other services were delayed overnight and into this morning.
Thursday morning services, including the 8.45am Dover ferry, have been delayed by 60 minutes.
The operator is advising customers to check in as normal and passengers will be accommodated on the next available sailing.
Two South West trains hit trees on railway lines in Southern England in the storms last night.
Meanwhile, in the US, rain, ice, snow and dense fog over the Central, Eastern and Northwestern states threatens to affect the travel plans of thousands of people.
