Storms disrupt AirNZ flights
Thunder and lightning delayed Air New Zealand’s services at Auckland airport today, while snow affected services to and from Dunedin airport, and heavy snow showers caused widespread cancellations at Queenstown airport.
Around 800 passengers on flights to and from Queenstown were affected by cancellations and were being re-accommodated on alternative services.
An additional Boeing 737 service between Christchurch and Queenstown was added to the schedule to provide extra capacity.
Air NZ is advising travellers to keep an eye on the airline’s website arrivals and departures page for up to date schedule information as the weather disruptions were expected to have some flow-on effect.
