Sun Princess debut delayed
Princess Cruises’ is being forced to wait a little longer to take possession of its newest, largest ship.
The line and shipbuilder Fincantieri announced a short delay.
The Sun Princess was slated to depart on its inaugural cruise from Barcelona on February 8 but this has been cancelled.
The maiden sailing has now been provisionally amended to February 18 departing Civitavecchia, Italy.
They haven’t disclosed the reason for the short delay.
“We understand this is disappointing. We recognize the anticipation that surrounded this sailing, and we sincerely apologize=,” said John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises.
Guests who were booked on the first sailing can request a full refund plus a 50% future cruise credit (FCC).
They also receive up to $200 per person for flight change fees.
Princess also said it will protect travel agent commissions
