Surgery performed on Kimberley boat accident tourists
Several occupants of last week’s Kimberley boating accident are expected to stay in hospital for days. Some had ‘critical’ injuries.
Twenty-eight people were on tour boat Falls Express when it ran into trouble at popular tourist spot Horizontal Falls. The boat is thought to have hit rocks as it sped through fast-moving rapids.
A dozen seriously injured tourists were airlifted to Perth, with ten still in hospital. Several have undergone surgery.
Injuries included head trauma and broken bones.
