Swiss-Belhotel announces new resort for Davao, Philippines
Hospitality group Swiss-Belhotel International is expanding its Asia footprint with its first upscale resort in Davao, Philippines.
In partnership with Luxury Lifestyle Leisure and Resorts Corporation, it unveiled details of Swiss-Belresort and Villas Samal, which will feature 180 rooms and 100 villas.
Located on the Island Garden City of Samal, in the northern part of Davao, it is targeted to open in Q4 2021.
"We are delighted to be planning to launch a new property on Samal Island, which I am sure will become a major new tourism destination in the Philippines," said Gavin M. Faull, Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International.
Just 18km from Davao International Airport and connected by bridge to metro Davao, Samal Island is slated to become a major tourism draw in the near future.
The 20-hectare resort complex of Samal will also house high-end villas and facilities and showcase Davao del Norte’s culture, cuisine and natural attractions.
Swiss-Belhotel International currently manages 105 hotels and resorts across Asia including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Cambodia and the Philippines.
