TA Fastrack working with agents to educate consumers

Monday, 20 Jul, 2006 0

TA Fastrack has joined with AFTA and travel agents across Australia in a united drive to convince consumers to book with a travel agent as opposed to any other method. TA Fastrack will shortly send marketing pieces to every travel agent in Australia on a FOC basis to help them.

“The material will assist travel agents to better market and sell themselves to consumers as to why they should always book through a travel agent instead of the Internet or directly via suppliers,’ said TA Fastrack CEO, Mr. Adrian Caruso. ‘Initially we have created flyers that can be customised with 11 reasons why you should always book through a travel agent.”

“In Australia I still see travel agents not promoting strongly the reasons why it is beneficial to book through their agency as opposed to the Internet or directly through suppliers,’ Mr Caruso said. ‘Agents should be strongly promoting their team, their area of expertise and where they’ve been to. No wonder agents are losing more and more bookings direct.” Travel agents are excellent when it

comes to selling the benefits of using their suppliers (many of which sell direct to consumers anyway) and promoting them but don’t do enough to sell themselves and the reasons why a consumer should always use a travel agent.

“‘Travel agents need to start selling themselves as the ‘only’ place to book travel. They should tell people ‘they are’ the travel experts and all the benefits they will receive when they book through them,”‘ said Mr. Caruso.

We’ve even helped some of our clients create individual CV profile style flyers on each of their team members that outlines where they have travelled to, which destination/type of travel they specialise in, what training they have done and most importantly……testimonials from their clients about how good their service is (see www.igougo.com).

TA Fastrack has developed a series of sample ads, press releases, flyers and e-Books that will be progressively distributed to all travel agents via email on a complimentary basis. ‘This will help travel agents better promote themselves to the consumers as travel experts and help them overcome any objections. Used properly it will convince consumers to always use travel agents’, Mr. Caruso said.

Two flyers titled ’11 Reasons to book through a Travel Agent’ and ‘The Most Powerful Travel Search Engine’ are now available via www.tafastrack.com.
