Taiwan cosys up to UK travel trade
Taiwan has signaled its intention to work more closely with the UK travel trade with the launch of its first-ever online training scheme.
To be launched in May by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the five-module scheme will be the first step in raising awareness of the country among travel agents.
“Until now we have focused very much on tour operator partnerships and consumer marketing, but we believe the time is now right to specialist long-haul agents with a training programme,” said a spokeswoman.
“It will give agents a chance to learn about what makes Taiwan special – its combination of vibrant city experiences, spectacular landscapes, modern sophistication and traditional lifestyles.”
For more information on Taiwan, agents should visit www.taiwan.net.tw <http://www.taiwan.net.tw> or call The Saltmarsh Partnership on 020 7928 1600.
