Talks begin over Middle East airline alliance
Six Arab airlines and the Arab Air Carriers Organisation are in talks with Sabre Airline Solutions over the formation of a new Middle East airline alliance.
Egypt Air, Gulf Air, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air, Royal Jordanian Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines are examining the creation of Arabesk, an alliance that would co-ordinate the schedules of the carriers.
It is thought the move could provide financial benefits by eradicating the duplication of services and capacity and linking networks and destinations.
Sabre Airline Solutions work with airlines in simplifying operations and lowering costs.
