Tasmania Blooms Across Australia
Tasmania’s garden attractions are being showcased to the rest of Australia thanks to a partnership between Tourism Tasmania, Blooming Tasmania Inc. and the ABC Gardening Australia magazine, the Acting Minister for Tourism, Michelle O’Byrne, announced today.
Ms O’Byrne said the campaign further demonstrated the ways Tasmania’s unique garden attractions were being promoted to enthusiasts across Australia.
“Our aim is to provide gardening buffs across Australia with additional incentive for them to come and experience our spectacular garden attractions for themselves. “The campaign includes a number of different elements over the coming spring and summer seasons, coinciding with peak viewing times for many of Tasmania’s garden attractions,†Ms O’Byrne said.
Ms O’Byrne said as the centrepiece for the campaign, the 2008-2009 edition of the Blooming Tasmania guide was being inserted into the September issue of Gardening Australia magazine.
“With more than 110,000 copies distributed nationally, this is the perfect way of targeting passionate gardeners Australia-wide. “The September issue showcases garden attractions in Launceston and North East Tasmania.
“A further three advertorial features promoting other Tasmanian regional gardening attractions will appear in the following three editions of Gardening Australia until December.
“The Tasmanian feature in the December edition will also appear as part of the digital magazine sample on the Gardening Australia website. “In addition, the 2008-2009 Blooming Tasmania guide will be included in showbags distributed at five Gardening Australia Expos across Australia in the coming months, extending Tasmania’s reach to tens of thousands of Australian gardening enthusiasts.
“Many visitors to our garden attractions have cited the Blooming Tasmania supplement as an essential guide to Tasmania’s garden experiences, so our partnership with Gardening Australia is expected to pay handsome dividends for the State,†Ms O’Byrne said.
The 2008-2009 Blooming Tasmania guide will be officially launched in Tasmania on 23 August at the Blooming Tasmania Association’s Annual General Meeting and annual workshop.
The five Gardening Australia Expos will be held in Sydney 29-31 August, Melbourne 3-5 October, Perth 23-26 October, Adelaide in February 2009, and Brisbane in April 2009.
