Teen detained for Airdrop bomb threat hoax
A high school student is facing criminal charges for a prank hoax bomb threat on a flight.
He sent the bogus ‘I have a bomb’ threat through AirDrop to other passengers as an American Airlines plane was taxiing for takeoff.
The plane had to be searched by a bomb squad and it delayed passengers for five hours.
The teen soon confessed to the bomb threat after being detained by law enforcement.
The El Paso County attorney plans to prosecute.
He faces felony charges and two years in prison if found guilty.
