Teenage student saves train company £750,000
A TRAIN company unable to work out why trains were running late have finally solved the problem – thanks to its teenage work experience student.
Managers at Central Trains were left scratching their heads after services out of Tyseley were regularly late – and costing them £4,500 a throw in fines.
According to the Daily Telegraph, 17-year-old Ade Sodeinde investigated and unravelled the mystery. Among the causes were that tracks at the depot were causing trains to travel at slow speeds and that drivers and conductors were unable to board trains earlier enough because of safety checks and cleaning.
Following Ade’s probe, tracks have been renovated and employed more staff and punctuality has risen. It is estimated her efforts will save Central £750,000.
