Telewest signs deal with gazetteers

Telewest Travel has teamed up with DG&G to give agents using its portal access to point-of-sale country information.

DG&G is a web Gazetteer that provides agents with information about holiday destinations and properties.

Agents using Telewest’s Endeavour portal can now access the DG&G information without going to a separate website. However, they still have to subscribe to DG&G, which costs £325 for one year for a single user, but less per user if there are multiple concurrent users. DG&G has information and independent reviews on 10,000 properties and 630 resorts or cities.

Telewest claims that its agents’ portal will be the first holiday booking portal to provide agents with electronic access to DG&G holiday information.

Head of Telewest Travel Keith Webber (pictured), said: “Agents will now have access to a trusted holiday information resource at the touch of a button, which will aid sales generation and improve customer information, both of which are vital in the current climate.”
