TELME FAREBASE & A&H RISK TEAM UP FOR AGENT OKTOBERFEST INCENTIVE

Thursday, 18 Sep, 2003 0

The TelMe Farebase Travel Portal has teamed up with one of their Portal partners, travel insurance specialist A&H Risk Services Limited to offer the chance for agents to attend the 170th OktoberFest weekend in Munich from 3rd to 5th October. OktoberFest is the biggest public festival in the world attracting some six million visitors who drink five million litres of beer and consume 200,000 pairs of pork sausages.

The incentive will be awarded to the agent who sells the highest number of travel insurance policies between 11th August and 19th September 2003.

A&H Risk Managing Director, Brendan Reed, elaborated: “We wanted to provide a different incentive to say thank you to agents who work hard to sell our policies. We thought this was a fun way to show our appreciation of their skills”.

The incentive also includes £100 of John Lewis vouchers for the runner up and all policies sold will be entered into a ‘lucky dip’ draw for a further two prizes of £100 John Lewis Vouchers.

Jon Constantine, Managing Director of TelMe Farebase.co.uk added: “We are very committed to working with our Portal Partners to provide incentives for travel agents who support our businesses”.

Notes to Editors

The TelMe Farebase Travel Portal provides a marketplace for buyers and sellers of travel to meet online. It brings together travel agents with the suppliers of travel services – transport, accommodation, car hire, insurance etc.

TelMe Farebase recognised that, as more and more travel agents became web enabled there was a unique opportunity to supersede viewdata and provide a complete travel portal. Farebase already had the technology and an existing customer base of over 700 travel agents and were in a unique position to provide this portal.

The TelMe Farebase Portal now provides a number of vitally important services to travel agents including: Online Booking, Consolidated, Charter No Frills and Late Availability Searches, Links to other Travel Sites, Product Information and Technical Support.

The On-Line Booking system uses Ticket Window Technology developed by TelMe Online Ltd. This system is designed to work on a number of tasks simultaneously and can provide an effective response to a flight enquiry very quickly. The target time to deliver a choice of itineraries on screen is 60 seconds.

A&H Risk Services Limited offer on-line travel insurance for travel agents. They only specialise in travel insurance sold through the trade.
