Thai Airways board of directors quits
BANGKOK – The directors of Thai Airways International have resigned to allow the government to appoint a new board to deal with several pressing issues, industry sources have told The Nation newspaper.
The first priority of the new directors is the controversial plan to move the flag carrier’s domestic flights out of Don Mueang Airport to the new airport, Suvarnabhumi.
Second is selecting the airline’s new president from some 11 applicants.
Third, the airline, which reported a massive loss in 2008, will have to implement its business rehabilitation plan quickly to avoid plunging deeper into a liquidity crisis.
