THAI Increase Capacity on Melbourne route
Thai Airways International is today celebrating an increase in capacity ex Melbourne with the introduction of 2 additional afternoon flights each week to Bangkok, making the route a double daily non-stop operation.
All 14 flights each week are operated with the 2-class configuration Royal Silk (business) and Economy class, Boeing 777-200ER aircraft featuring personal entertainment systems for all passengers.
In addition, THAI has introduced the Boeing 777-300 aircraft from Sydney, Brisbane and Bangkok to standardize the 2-class Royal Silk (business) and Economy class product offered on all flights between the east coast of Australia and Bangkok. Royal Silk Class features 163 degree, lie-flat capsule-style seating with all the latest in-seat personal entertainment and video-on-demand facilities and amenities.
Economy class passengers also have access to personal in-seat entertainment systems with all passengers enjoying outstanding Thai hospitality and individual attention.
THAI has again committed as a major airline sponsor of the ‘Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show’, being held in Melbourne during 02-06 April 2008.
The beautiful Thai orchid is the inspiration for THAI’s unique company logo and will be a featured prominently at the Flower Show, symbolizing our traditional image and expressing the uniqueness of our cultural heritage to over 125,000 visitors throughout the 4 day event.
This year, the THAI display will feature a live and interactive demonstration of our latest Royal Silk Business Class capsule-style seats, as a central feature to a display featuring over 2000 Thai orchids flown in directly from Thailand. The design will also creatively feature traditional ‘Kom Loys’ (Thai lanterns) sourced from the northern handicraft capital of Thailand, Chiang Mai.
Fares to Bangkok start from $710 return per person plus taxes (approx $300) in Economy Class from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and from $3,420 per person plus taxes in Royal Silk Class.
THAI flies 3 times a day between Sydney and Bangkok and daily between Brisbane and Bangkok.
Fares and flights are also available between Perth and Bangkok with 5 flights a week between the 2 cities – including 3 non-stop flights from Perth to Phuket.
