Thailand flights scrapped
Phuket Air has reduced flights between London and Bangkok due to weak demand.
The airline is cutting flights from five per week to three per week from February 4 in what would normally be peak season for travel to Thailand.
Phuket Air says it hopes to return to five flights per week as early as July 2005 if the market recovers. In a statement the airline said that decision to cut flights was a direct effect of the Asian tsunami.
Phuket Air spokesman Gordon Macfarland added that the carrier will go ahead with the launch of flights between Amsterdam and Bangkok from March 26 and will expand its fleet by two aircraft in July, which are being leased from United Airlines.
The airline said that customers with forward bookings will be booked on the nearest available flight or be offered an alternative date or refund.
