Thailand tourism slump ‘beyond comparison’, says TAT

Thailand is set to endure a tourism crisis that will eclipse the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, according to reports.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said in 2020 it expects to attract barely a quarter of the 40 million tourists who visit its cities and beaches each year.
The slump will be worse than any previous catastrophe – including the devastating tsunami 16 years ago.
