Thailand tourist arrivals dip
Thailand’s foreign tourist arrivals so far this year have dipped compared to 2024.
From Jan 1 to Aug 3, total tourist arrivals fell 6.56% compared to last year, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports said.
Thailand welcomed 19.57 million foreign visitors this year to date, the ministry said, with China the largest source market with 2.73 million visitors.
The government has revised down its forecast for foreign tourist arrivals this year to 34.5 million from 36.5 million.
It attracted almost 40 million visitors pre pandemic
With tourism numbers trending down, Thailand recently suspended its planned tourism tax.
