Just guess! How many Americans travel to attend family unions every year? As many as 72 million! This undoubtedly makes group traveling a very important prospect in travel industry. Some dedicated magazines keep track of these trends and reflect the way in which the families or groups find a way to stay in touch with each other.

These reunions are even more significant these days when most of the family members stay away from each other. The picnics and the reunions are the only opportunity for them to meet each other. These reunions need a suitable place as the grandma’s place or any other friend’s place is not always regarded suitable any more. However, the selection of the venue require consideration of several factors like location, travel time, facilities available, climate and others. It also depends on the taste of the family members or the majority of the group as some may prefer landscape and the others may prefer wilderness. The guided group tours are of great fun and the group tours currently organized is equipped with all the facilities to make it a memorable one.

Benefits of group travel

Most of these groups consist of at least 10 or more. These tours mainly reserve areas, which can offer a lot of space as some of the group may consist of as many as 35 members.  Therefore, the family lodges are huge and may consist of 5 bedrooms also. The restaurants and banquets are also big enough to accommodate good number of guests. The last but not the least, in a group travel; you won’t ever fall short of companionship.

There are numerous tourist destinations, which are perfectly suitable to host this large number of people at one time. One of the advantages of traveling in groups is that it offers a much cheaper rate per head compared to traveling alone. There are several destinations, which are too costly to visit alone, but if you can travel in a group, per head cost will be much friendly to your pocket. Another advantage of traveling in groups is providing opportunities to people of different generations to get along with each other. And after a trip of about 5-6 days, they will end up knowing the other generation much better than they used to.

Some of the places, which are suitable for such reunions or group visits, are:

– Glacier national Park
– Bryce canyon National Park
– Zion National Park
– Yosemite National Park
– Grand Canyon National Park
– Yellowstone National Park
