The Americas go Platinum with Globus
Globus has combined the best of North America’s glitz and glamour with the continent’s most spectacular wilderness areas in its 2008 United States & Canada brochure, creating a range of unforgettable tours for Australian travellers.
The new brochure, which also offers tours to Central and South America, introduces six new journeys within the region travelling from Alaska in the north to Argentina’s Ushuaia at the ‘end of the world’, the southernmost tip of South America.
For the first time, Globus has also introduced a Platinum Collection of tours in its brochure, giving passengers the choice of 14 premium escorted tours with smaller group sizes, a more leisurely pace, indulgent accommodation and memorable activities.
Globus National Marketing Manager Fiona Watson said the new tours in the 2008 collection gave Australian travellers the chance to see even more of the spectacular sights of North and South America.
“Globus travellers will also be able to pre-pay their gratuities on all 2008 tours for the first time, allowing our guests to budget more easily for the trip and really enjoy their holiday,” Ms Watson said.
The new 16-day ‘National Parks of Canada and the US’ tour takes in seven different wilderness areas in North America, visiting the Glacier, Yoho, Banff and Waterton Lakes National Parks in Canada, and the legendary Yellowstone and Bryce Canyon National Parks in the US before crossing the Painted Desert to reach the Grand Canyon, priced from $4219* per person twin share.
Ms Watson said adding the Platinum Collection to Globus’ range meant travellers were able to choose to travel across the Americas in comfort or to spend a little more time and indulge themselves with luxurious accommodation and some truly magnificent experiences.
Platinum Collection tours available range from a magical seven-day tour of Yellowstone National Park in the winter including a sleigh ride, priced from $2319*, to a 10-day tour of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island with an oyster shucking lesson from $2989* or a 13-day ‘Alaska and the Inside Passage’ land/cruise tour with a jet-boat safari from $4329*.
Globus also has seven tours tailored around special events such as five days at the biggest ballooning event in the world – Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta – October 2-6 from $1429* and a new four-day tour celebrating Christmas at legendary Nashville, Tennesee, from $1249*.
Globus itineraries also offer many extra inclusions such as overnight lodging on the rim of the Grand Canyon, a winemaking course from local experts in the Napa Valley, dinner aboard the Queen Mary at Long Beach, reserved seats at the Grand Ole Opry show in Nashville and rail journeys on the famous Rocky Mountaineer.
With an average group size of around 38 people, Globus passengers enjoy comfortable transport and more leisure time at key attractions.
