The best things in life come out of the Blue
Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces hosted 100 Melbourne friends on Thursday 17th August, at chic venue Comme for a cocktail party to celebrate the opening of BLUE sydney, A Taj Hotel. Area Director Nick Israel and General Manager K Mohanchandran welcomed guests with a vanilla passion cocktail, the signature drink of BLUE sydney’s legendary Water Bar.
Situated at The Wharf at Woolloomooloo in Sydney, BLUE sydney is a boutique hotel in the heart of Sydney’s most famous and luxurious marina, restaurant and apartment complex. Its location is unbeatable, a contemporary urban renewal of an historic wharf structure, within walking distance of the Central Business and Shopping Districts, the Sydney Opera House and adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens.
It has a well-established reputation of blending the intimacy of a boutique hotel with the facilities and reliability of a top-end business hotel. Providing an upscale experience, the hotel offers 100 guest rooms with stylish interiors, popular restaurants, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, Spa services and a full-service Business Centre.
The hotel’s Water Bar has been named “Bar of the Year” by the Sydney Morning Herald and “One of the Top 10 Bars in the World” by Conde Nast Traveler, an international magazine.
“We are delighted to make our debut in Australia with this wonderful hotel, a true Sydney icon, much loved by Melbourne travellers. Taj Hotels has been searching in Australia for some time and we’re excited to be represented in the Sydney market with such a property.” said Mr. Raymond Bickson, Managing Director & CEO, The Indian Hotels Company Limited, which operates Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.
Adding a touch of India to the evening were magnificent Bollywood dancers, who showcased their talents to preview the fabulous Bollywood Masala Film festival (launching in October), and to celebrate Taj’s involvement with this cinematic spectacle.
