The Director of Mexican tourism board assures Arkansas travelers it is safe to travel to Mexico
The Director of Mexican tourism board is trying to reassure Arkansans its safe to travel to his country. In Little Rock Wednesday, Martin Gonzales spoke to the Arkansas Committee on Foreign Relations about tourism and trade.
He addressed the recent increase of violence in Mexico. Just last week, you’ll recall we told you about a warning the state department issued to college students planning spring break trips in Mexico. But Wednesday, Gonzales says you’ll be safe if you visit.
"We don’t deny violence is happening, but it’s drug related. It’s not violence that you’ll feel everyday in main destinations," Martin Gonzales, Director of Mexican Tourism for southern states said.
Gonzales also spoke about trade and businesses opportunities with local leaders.
