The Travel Network Group buys Midlands-based travel company
The Travel Network Group has bought Midlands-based Destina Travel from its previous owners Good Travel Management for an undisclosed sum, bringing its network of owned stores to eight.
Destina Travel includes a retail travel store and a small niche tour operator that trades under the brand Mercian Travel, which has been offering bridge and bowling tours for 25 years.
TTNG CEO Gary Lewis said: "We are delighted to welcome the team at Destina Travel to our Group. Destina Travel has been a valued member of Worldchoice for the last 10 years and we have worked particularly closely with them recently with their re-brand from Mercian Travel to Destina Travel, and in helping them with the recruitment of the store manager, Sam Tyers.
"When they decided that that the business was no longer core to their own strategic aims, they concluded that we would be the best partner for the business going forward."
A TTNG spokeswoman said Destina, which is based in Hagley, Stourbridge, will continue to operate ‘as it has always done’.
