Third of Farex Systems acquired by online advertising firm
Online advertising and e-commerce specialist Internet Business Group has acquired a 33% stake in Farex Systems.
Farex Systems provides travel agents with a fare finding tool and web portal. This amalgamates fares from more than 30 consolidators into a single database, enabling agents to do a comparison search before linking directly to the consolidators’ own web-booking system to complete the booking.
The company’s Travel Navigator web content has been integrated onto the site, including links to “agent friendly” websites saving the need to remember or store site addresses.
IBG chairman Maziar Darvish said: “We are very excited about the acquisition of this successful and highly reputable web portal for travel agents. We already have a proven and growing affiliate marketing presence within the travel industry serving leading tour operators and airlines. Our stake in Farex is part of our overall strategy to strengthen our links with the travel sector.”
