Thomas Cook and Barclays in joint venture
Thomas Cook UK has formed a joint venture with Barclays to offer a branded credit card andother financial services.
The new Thomas Cook credit card will replace one that has been issued with MBNA for six years.
The travel group and Barclays are to develop a range of other financial services as part of the 50-50 joint deal.
Thomas Cook UK CEO Manny Fontenla-Novoa said: “Over the past year I have openly talked about Thomas Cook’s desire to strengthen its place in the financial services market and today marks an important step in this journey.
“Our research desmonstrates that our brand is perfectly suited to this sector and long term I believe Thomas Cook will be a dominant player in this highly competitive market.”
