Thomas Cook opens new concept store in Scotland
Thomas Cook has opened a Discovery store in Silverburn, the first of its kind in Scotland.
Staffed by 12 people, the store is part of a ‘refresh’ programme to open 25 innovative new format by 2018.
It is the fourth to open in the last two years, following on from Westfield Stratford City, Chelmsford and Belfast.
Stores use virtual reality technology and digital screens to help customers research holidays.
They also have a ‘fresh and more open’ design and new features, like the option to book appointments in advance online.
Director of retail and customer experience Kathryn Darbandi said: "With more than two thirds of customers who research online coming into store, we know our team of knowledgeable travel experts play an important role when helping customers choose the right holiday, and that face-to-face contact is extremely valuable.
"We hope that our newly designed Discovery store will inspire and engage customers in the Glasgow area, as well as cater to individual researching and booking preferences."
The team at the Silverburn Discovery store will be led by Fraser Hopkins, who next year will be completing his 25th year of service at Thomas Cook.
