Thomson air steward disciplined for Facebook post
A Thomson Airways steward has been disciplined for posting a photo of a passenger on Facebook, warning colleagues she was ‘an absolutely barking mad nutter’.
Claire Marshall Hernandez, 37, wrote that the woman claimed to have been on The X Factor, sang a Diana Ross tune and blocked a toilet with ‘God knows what’, under the hashtag ‘nuisance’, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Posting in the ‘Thomson Airways MAN Info Group’ – a group used by Thomson Airways staff – she warned colleagues about the return leg from Spain.
It was spotted by a group administrator and taken down shortly afterwards but one member of the group told the Manchester newspaper.
The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "This lady is clearly a vulnerable adult.
"Considering that cabin crew are trained in ensuring passengers are taken to their destination safely, supposedly without judgement, to look after the welfare of 200 to 300 or more people – and considering the traveller is paying for the seat and expecting that – I find this appalling.
A Thomson Airways spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that the post was removed immediately, and the member of staff involved has been dealt with accordingly.’
