Thomson launches final TV advertising campaign
Thomson has launched its last ever marketing campaign before it switches to the TUI brand in 2017.
The latest TV advert follows more than six decades of campaigns by the travel giant, including, most recently, those featuring Simon the Ogre, Kid and Miles the Bear.
The newest offering, which will debut on Friday December 16, features a little girl walking from the beach towards her father in a swimming pool, with ‘moments’ frozen around her, before she finally jumps into his arms.
Shot at the Thomson Platinum resort Aquila Rithymna Beach in Crete, the film will be broadcast throughout December and January, with the theme of ‘moments’ supported across Thomson’s other marketing channels.
Marketing director Jeremy Ellis said: "The campaign forms part of an important brand migration programme as Thomson establishes itself as a global travel leader in the UK before transitioning to TUI later next year.
"While the 2016 film may be the final Thomson sign off, we remain committed to bringing our customers with us on this journey while we continue to offer quality, modern and more personalised getaways you’d expect from a holiday company with over 60 years of heritage in the industry."
Parent TUI has confirmed that Thomson sister brand First Choice, which offers only all-inclusive holidays, will keep its name.
