Thomson opens holiday design superstore
Thomson has opened a holiday design superstore at Monks Cross retail park in York.
The superstore is one of the first to include a giant touch screen interactive map designed to entertain customers while they search for holidays.
It follows the opening of holiday design stores in Bluewater, Liverpool and Bristol last year.
Customers will be able to self-serve on the customer computers at an Advice Bar, where staff will be on hand to answer questions, or they can have a more personalised experience in the different zones within the store, such as the family zone or the long-haul zone.
Director of retail for TUI UK & Ireland Kathryn Ward said: "We are very excited about the opening of our new superstore at Monks Cross Shopping in York.
"It’s the first time we have introduced our technical transformations into a superstore and we are looking forward to welcoming customers to the store and seeing how they enjoy the experience.
"Our three holiday design shops at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Liverpool and Bristol have proved to be a huge success and it’s great to be able to offer this unique service in one of our superstores.
"It showcases the future for our retail network. We’re combining the knowledge and expertise of our people with a range of technology that will really bring choosing and booking a holiday to life."
