Thomson reveals its busiest day for online bookings…
January 8 has emerged as the busiest day for bookings and searches on Thomson’s website this year.
While the third weekend in January has traditionally been the biggest weekend for bookings, Thomson said consumers were quicker off the mark this year.
Overall, it has reported its biggest ever January with website page views up 11% year on year.
The page for Thomson holidays departing in the next six weeks had the biggest number of views of all the pages, with 1,023,306 impressions, up 26% for the same period last year.
The most popular winter sun destinations for Thomson customers were Tenerife, Sharm el Sheikh and Mexico.
For summer, the Canary Islands and the Balearics were the most popular destinations.
Whilst the traditional Costa destinations proved most popular with consumers, up and coming destinations also fared well.
Cape Verde was the seventh most searched for destination for Thomson, and searches for Croatia were up 55% year-on-year for Thomson.
** What was your best day during the January peak booking period? Did you notice that customers were booking earlier than in previous years?
