Three Americans found dead in Mexico City Airbnb
Three Americans have died at an Airbnb rental in Mexico City.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is highly suspected as the cause.
Authorities confirm autopsies have been performed.
Mexico City attorney’s office ordered an investigation and the home has been removed from Airbnb.
They were identified as Kandace Florence and Jordan Marshall, both 28, from Virginia Beach, and 28-year-old Courtez Hall, from New Orleans.
The friends were in the city to celebrate the Day of the Dead.
“We are closely monitoring local authorities’ investigation into the cause of death. We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance,” the US State Department said in a statement.
“Our priority right now is supporting those impacted as the authorities investigate what happened, and we stand ready to assist with their inquiries however we can,” Airbnb said.
