TIA hires UK PR and representation firm
The Travel Industry Association has appointed Cellet Travel Services as its representative office to spearhead new initiatives to attract UK visitors to the US.
Cellet will implement the launch of a new Discover America website – claimed to be the first dedicated online resource promoting travel to the US.
The site is to be launched in the spring and will provide visa, travel and destination information to allow travellers to plan a US holidays.
The website will also feature information on US states, territories and cities, attractions, booking tools, travel agent directory, official entry information and an interactive map.
Bruce Bommarito, TIA’s chief operating officer, who is also responsible for the organisation’s international programmes, said: “TIA is committed to facilitating growth in the UK, which is our top overseas market, providing 4.1 million visitors in 2006.
“In appointing Cellet as the official representative of TIA, we know our voice will be heard and they will spread our message that the USA is improving our efforts to welcome visitors with open arms”.
TIA CEO Roger Dow added: “We are excited to have an experienced agency like Cellet to help communicate our strong, positive message and initiatives to the UK travel community and media. We look forward to welcoming the UK delegation to our International Pow Wow in Las Vegas in late May.”
Cellet managing director Stella Clery-Ackland said: “We are exceptionally honoured to represent such a respected organisation as TIA. The USA is such a thrilling brand and we look forward to growing visitation to this dynamic destination”.
