Tigerair prepares to restart Bali flights
Tigerair says it will resume flights to Bali next month after resolving a regulatory dispute.
Scheduled flights will restart on February 3 after reaching agreement with Indonesian authorities.
Tigerair was forced to suspend services nearly two weeks ago due to new administrative requirements over its air operators permit which Indonesia claimed only covered charter flights.
Tigerair will restart services with Airbus A320 jets rather than the Boeing 737 aircraft it previously used.
“Tigerair Australia has received a key approval from the Indonesian Government to operate scheduled flights to and from Bali using its Airbus A320 aircraft. Tigerair plans to resume its normal Bali flying schedule from February 3, 2017, subject to final procedural approvals being secured,” it said in a statement.
Customers with tickets prior to that date will be offered full refunds.
However, under the agreement, Tigerair will not be able to sell tickets ahead of the restart date.
