Timely luxury from a Singapore icon
Guests staying at Raffles Hotel Singapore during its 125th anniversary in September can book a two-night luxury package which includes His and Her’s engraved Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso watches, round trip airport transfers in a Raffles Bentley, afternoon tea for two in the Tiffin Room, Billecart-Salmon champagne on arrival and tickets to the Tiger’s Tale Fancy Dress Dinner to celebrate the occasion.
And the cost? A mere SGD50,000++ (AUD38,257).
It was 125 years ago in 1887 that the Raffles Hotel – named after the city’s founder, Sir Stamford Raffles – opened its doors and welcomed its first guests.
Today, the hotel is synonymous with Singapore.
Through the years, the glamorous guest list has included business tycoons and adventurers, politicians and movie stars, authors and writers – all of whom fed in to the stories and legends, both fact and fiction, which have added to the mystic of the hotel.
To celebrate its 125-year story, Raffles Hotel has teamed up with Jaeger-LeCoultre, whose own history goes back nearly 180 years.
The Swiss watchmaker has created an exclusive engraving, "Raffles Hotel 1887-2012 Singapore", available on Gents’ Reverso Grande Taille, and Ladies’ Grande Reverso Lady Ultra-Thin.
The anniversary package is available from September 1-30 2012
